Asbestos Claims Compensation For Former Hospital WorkerAsbestos Compensation has been paid to a hospital plumber following his diagnosis of asbestos-related lung cancer.

Alan Ward successfully sued the Yorkshire and Humber Strategic Health Authority. He was employed by them between 1964 and 1972. It was found in court that the Authority failed to inform the claimant of the dangers of working with asbestos They also did not provide adequate protective clothing.

The 61-year old received £175,000 in compensation following his accident claim. Mr Ward was supported by Unison. A spokesman for the union commented that the money will help his final months but nothing can compensate him for what he is suffering.
