Case Resolution
£48,500 awarded
Our client was working in a workshop in a factory that painted cars. Blocked filters led to paint fumes leaking into the main workshop where PPE was not required to be worn.
The chemicals from the spray paints leaked into the general workshop from the spray booths. Ventilation systems were inadequate to deal with the fumes that leaked into the workshop causing our client to develop chronic occupational asthma.
The client suffered breathing issues and their lung function was affected. They were dismissed from their employment on health grounds.
The claim was settled in January 2023 for £48,500. The settlement included damages for both future and past loss of earnings. The client said ‘Really efficient, excellent work from Husniya Amatullah would recommend”
