Coal Miners Awarded Compensation
Coal Miners Awarded Compensation
Recent figures published by the Department of Energy and Climate Change have indicated that the Government is making progress towards settling the accident claims of former coal miners.
The coal miners, who have work related problems like Vibration White Finger and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, are pleased with the progress which has been made on the claims over the last six months with many reaching settlement.
Reports suggest that 198 claims have been settled for those who suffer from Vibration White Finger and that compensation claims totaling £2 million have been awarded.
2791 cases relating to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease have reached the final stage with compensation claims totaling £11.4 million being paid out.
There are still many active claims which have yet to reach a settlement.
